Meet The Chef
Growing up in Denver, Chef Jacob Bird fell in love with the mountains and the simple, fresh ingredients grown right outside his doorstep. After years of traveling the world from Thailand to Barcelona, he found himself pulled back to his native landscape, this time settling in beautiful Lake Tahoe.
With thirty-four years of experience as a chef, Jacob Bird has established himself as a culinary force in Lake Tahoe Catering. Prior to becoming fully independent in his craft in 2016, Chef Jacob worked for several upscale businesses including Ritz Carlton, Delaware North Corporation, Charlie Palmer Group, and Vali Resorts. Perhaps his favorite endeavor was his two year residency at an exclusive boutique hotel in the heart of Guatemala’s iconic Lake Atitlan.
In 2021, Chef Jacob started Tahoe Taste Catering Company, blending his world-wise palate with the pure and fresh flavors of the alpine region. Jacob has cooked for celebrities, superstars, political powerhouses, and CEOs at the forefront of their industry.* He has also dedicated his company to serving and supporting local non-profits to help foster a thriving community in Lake Tahoe.
Chef Jacob takes pride in creating each meal with intention to nourish the body, the mind, the heart, and the soul. He sustains a 360 approach to cooking that takes his clients around the world and back home again without ever leaving the table.
